About us

In a world where the only constant is change, ThinkPlace is a strategic design consultancy focused on helping organisations work out their direction, designing services that deliver on that direction and bringing about the organisational change to deliver those services. We help you to clarify a vision of where you want to go, and we help you chart a clear path to create your new reality.
To do this we apply user-centred design, systems thinking and innovation methods in ways that make sense for your organisation. We work with complex organisations across the public sector—government, not-for-profits, community, economic development, social development and voluntary. We also work with private sector organisations involved in delivering public and community value.
At the core of our identity is our empathy for the community, for public service, for the people who use public services and the people who deliver them. We have a particular passion for taking a human-centred approach. We define organisational contexts, understand the opportunities for innovation and design solutions that bring deeply improved human experiences. We believe in the value of bringing together diverse people to work collaboratively to address challenges and provide new perspectives. We inspire commitment to co-design solutions that the community, staff, stakeholders and the organisation can own.
Over the years, we have accumulated a wealth of experience and knowledge of the public sector context. This means we can hit the ground running on complex projects to turn ideas into reality fast. We have broad experience across multiple government agencies and public sector organisations. We understand government service delivery, regulation, compliance and law enforcement. Yet we bring to this context a unique design approach that helps our clients view their challenges from a different perspective and with an authentic focus on people, their experiences and opportunities for innovation that create public value.
